moshe12, after thinking about who really is the Baddest, I've decided to change my vote to Mikael, although Esther was equally bad her influence on the families pain and suffering was a much shorter time frame. Mikael has hunted them for 1000 yrs and still is today on TO. Last change. lol "soup made with only water" too funny girl. lol

Oh man all this abuse and mistreating and treason they committed against their children and against each other.

I love this comment. Silas was indeed a joke. A joke only he found funny. Talk about a guy that was full of himself? Yikes!!! He started out okay, then he just devolved into this annoying character that I couldn't stand. I'm glad he's not on the show anymore cause he was just not cutting it for me as a villain. But thank God they corrected their mistake and finally gave us a proper villain in Markos. That dude was the real deal. lol You think so I think Markos was boring as a soup made only with water...but the actor had a very special way of acting...I researched a bit about him and found out that he is a trained actor, who does alot of Shakespeare. Same with Enzo actor Michael Malarkey. You got it wrong Shila. My opinion of Markos has been a running joke on VD.net. If you were there you've understood what I meant. I was being entirely sarcastic when I complimented him. You get it now?

I did see some jokes about Markos and a pool party etc, but I am a bit distracted right now...sorry...European parliament elections and all ..... But the actor Barsoumian and Malarkey are trained actors who do alot of Shakespeare.

And there has been a general drift to the right wing in all countries. But the actor Barsoumian and Malarkey are trained actors who do alot of Shakespeare. That probably explains why Markos was so boring.

Hey moshe12, if you ever want to get @dman24 going, start chanting Knock-Knock jokes. lol We've had our share of actors too. In fact all of them are. =)

Silas to me is a joke compared to Esther, Even quite possibly klaus. Here's a guy pining over since Long lost love for 2000 years only to be dumped the minute she had a chance, and he was won over twice by some crazy witch? Esther cannot be controlled by love, not even the love of her children, that's why she's far more dangerous. And yes, he has crazy mind control-which can only take you so far once you know what he's up to- unlike the the crazy MICHAELSON superpower. Silas and his knock knock jokes are all one big joke- and a little annoying. I love this comment. Silas was indeed a joke. A joke only he found funny. Talk about a guy that was full of himself? He also doesn't have the karisma that klaus has, when klaus in on screen you just can't look away, unfortunately Markos it a bit more forgettable.

Don't get me wrong though I think Paul did a fantastic job with Silas. And I agree, mikel is just as scary as Esther , stone cold... But to me a little more charming. ...maybe that is why I liked Silas, bec PW played him, he does a fantastic job playing the Ripper, Silas, Stefan, Tom. I hate Silas though because he killed my beloved Jer. Still he is one of my fav villains. BTW I voted for Esther as the baddest badass villain Mikael has alot of sex appeal imho... and he is charming, Esther is one badass Momma and person. Not to mention put Stefan in a coffin...which I have to admit I still haven't 100% figured out why...

You know what I mean? I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend, I think my comment was a bit stronger than I intended. When it comes to baddest villian, it's a little more cut and dry-but I agree, favorite villian is a little more selective...and it's possible if Ian played Silas, maybe I would have favoured him a bit more!

Now that you mention it...I didn't get it either...50% pure spite may sum it up and 50% trying to pass through as Stefan in MF and wreck havoc , I gave up overanalyzing the SL tbh. Sometimes the writing / SL/ plot makes no sense, but I have learned to still enjoy it...same goes for Pretty Little Liars...makes no sense at all...but I still love to watch it. And I don't even see these series as a guilty pleasure. No no no, they are what they are. My motto is "Take it or leave it, as long as you only enjoy it"

I wanted to create a poll asking y'all which character you think is the biggest villain. I hope sincerely that I didn't forget anybody This is the first time that I have created a poll, so I hope it works. It would also be interesting if we could discuss why we voted as we did? I went with Esther because she's the most demented of the bunch, not only with her kids, but she messed with Alaric. She and Mikael truly deserve each other. I didn't choose Katherine or Klaus because we've seen different sides that humanize (vampirize) them for me, although they were both evil. Not as scary though; Esther scares me!

Can the banker that opened Caroline's first bank account be on the list? Haha! Funny one Debbie.

When I think of the question, "Who was the biggest and most impressive villain," I have two immediate answers: Klaus and Katherine. Both of them managed to override the status quo in which the Mystic Falls gang always wins. They both killed and/or did things to Elena that caused a lot of damage, regardless of whether the damage actually lasted. Klaus is probably bigger and more impressive than Katherine because the Mystic Falls crowd eventually killed Katherine and, due to circumstances out of even his control, none of them want to kill Klaus. Klaus got to be so huge as a character that he had to be given his own show in order to make time to explore his character further, starting with what he's capable of. I'm not sure the TO EPs have even scratched the surface of that. Redemption for Klaus is a lengthy process because he has to keep relapsing to show viewers what he can or will do, and for what reasons. He's an impressive villainous character who was spawned from a less impressive villain in the books. He's still a villain on TO, even though he's also the main character. To top Klaus, it would take more than a Traveler looking to destroy all witches. I remember how shocked I was when Klaus managed to kill Elena in the end of the second season. Of course everyone knew she would be resurrected, but she was up against a villain that no one could stop. They all had to give him what he wanted, or at least let him think for as long as possible that he had what he wanted. When Klaus left Mystic Falls, I think I recall a sort of big brother vibe going on between him and the vampires there. Too bad that couldn't have been followed through. I am glad, though, that the whole mess with Caroline was resolved. I just wish it didn't have to happen in the 100th episode. After two disastrous crossovers between the two shows, it feels like there won't be anymore crossovers involving Klaus.

@dman24 Found my way here just to see if you were gushing about Markos. Thank god you didn't disappoint. Markos' epicness can't be contained by a mere poll. He will forever be chanting through dimensions of time and space. Markos is eternal.
Except that I voted for Klaus. who won the coin toss between he and Katerina.
