I'm starting to think we're having a difference of opinion because I was trained to notice matters of storytelling, regardless of whether I'm a fan of a show. This was actually brought up when I was in college. The instructor told us all that he can't enjoy a lot of TV shows because he knows too much about how storytelling for television works. Oh well. All I can say is that I hope that Season 2 is really good, because even though Season 1 showed a lot more creativity with so many new characters, some things that happened were unnecessary. For instance, it wasn't necessary to have Rebekah in a complicated relationship with Marcel and trying to destroy Klaus, and the backstory with Mikael was especially unnecessary since he was going to get resurrected and flashbacks could have happened after that. I'm not sure that Rebekah's connection to Mikael will even be brought up again while Mikael himself is on the show, especially since Klaus and Rebekah appear to have patched things up and Rebekah is now protecting his baby. There probably won't be time to mention anything from 1920 except for what Mikael did to that opera house. Mikael's arrival in New Orleans in the past could have been explained at a later time and in a different way that isn't so harsh to a beloved character. Because of the storylines that mistreated Rebekah's character, it reached a point where I was glad to see Claire Holt leave the show for a while. If watching over the baby keeps Rebekah away and not causing trouble on top of other trouble, I'd rather see her doing that. There's such a thing as too much family drama in any genre.
I've said this before, but I'm not sure where- I'm also glad that Hayley is a hybrid now because it makes her character easier to tolerate after what she did in Mystic Falls. Making her the exact kind of creature that she once caused the annihilation of was a good move, and also some well-deserved karma if she gets rejected by her family over it. That family of hers was the motivation for a lot of destruction. Now Hayley will have to start over with a new life, and I'm sure I'm one of many fans who are eager to see how she does that. It doesn't matter if TVD and TO are parallel or separate, or if some fans don't notice the problems, it looks like TO writers are finally bearing in mind that a lot of people watch both shows and the writers have finally found a way to give Hayley's character a sort of reboot. I am very interested in what her story will be next season. I'm finally able to look at her character with a new set of eyes, so to speak. I don't care that Hayley will go dark because I'm pretty sure it will be the result of either being sired to the baby or breaking the sire bond by turning off her humanity. I can't see Elijah letting her break her bones hundreds of times to break a sire bond. Either way, it's going to be fascinating to watch. People are supposed to talk about the baby a lot during the first three episodes, so the sire bond might not be broken right away. It will have to be broken, though. I can't imagine any character spending eternity sired to anyone, not even their own missing child, if there's a way out of it. Come to think of it, Esther might be able to use the sire bond to locate Hope.

Come to think of it, Esther might be able to use the sire bond to locate Hope. Yeah see I wasn't trained to notice a lot of issues so maybe I am just ignorant to certain things. I mean I do analyze the shows I love. Honestly, I think we all do. But I guess I just don't over analyze every little detail because, at the end of the day, a tv show is meant to be simply entertainment. Now granted we don't want our shows to have huge, gaping plot holes but I don't see anything close to that on the Originals. I think if you really dig and spend a lot time analyzing every detail....you will find plot holes or inconsistencies on any show. It's just how it is. And just because I love a show does not mean I turn a blind eye to poor storytelling. You can ask a lot of members who were with me on vampire-diaries.net how much I critique a show. I'm not saying The Originals is a perfect show but rather that it is a good, entertaining, fun show that I enjoy watching weekly.

Have some new scoop on TO ... Hayley’s New Hybrid Form! Julie Plec Spills about Hayley and Hope! The Originals NewsMay 28, 2014 Julie Plec was interviewed with eonline and gave some insight to The 2nd season of The Originals. The CW has renewed “The Originals” for Season 2, but producers are yet to announce the release date of the forthcoming series, leaving fans somewhat in the lurch for the moment. Nevertheless, we have some interesting teasers from show creator Julie Plec for fans, who must be eagerly waiting to know what the next season of the series has in store for them. For those that thought the Season 1 finale of “The Originals” was dark, there could be even worse in store. Fans will need to wait patiently to see exactly what Plec is planning for the future of the supernatural creatures in Season 2. Phoebe Tonkin, who portrays the character of Hayley, says that the upcoming season would be even murkier, as her character will be dealing with her own scary demons.... read the rest over at theoriginalscw.tv/hayleys-new-hybrid-form-julie-plec-spills-about-hayley-and-hope/

I'm seeing links to a few blogs that claim to report news but also speculate on possible meanings to official spoilers. There are obviously rumors all over the place, but I'm very careful about not believing everything I read on the internet. I mean, people made a very big deal because one website misinterpreted the news that Nate Buzolic filmed on The Originals for a day. Those of us who decided not to get excited simply rolled our eyes when it turned out that Kol will only appear in flashback, not as a supporting or regular character as a couple of blogs claimed. It's hard to tell what websites can be trusted and which ones can't. I usually just bear in mind that if something looks like a blog that copies from credible news sources, the site should not be trusted.
I did enjoy seeing the video of Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, and Charles MIchael Davis, though. I don't think they were all completely honest about what the time jump will be. They were trying to make it into whatever the hiatus is between seasons. That might be the time jump on TO in the beginning of Season 2, but if TO keeps with the time jump on TVD, which is supposed to be a lot longer than a couple of months, either there will be more than one time jump on TO or the time jump is being kept quiet.

This season 5 of TVD and 1 of TO I had made a decision to stay as far away from spoilers and gossip as possible, because they only heighten the anxiety and drive me crazy at times. I fared well with that approach. Now with the hiatus and 5 months to go to season premiere I am finding myself suddenly looking all over the web for spoilers etc. As you already have pointed out we never know which source i reliable or not. I think I will distance myself again from all my crazy spoiler searching of the last few days But the interview with the three men from TO was good. I never quite trust them all in the interviews because they are all obligated and surely they know exactly what they can say or not say and in the end they mostly say nothing in all these interviews. So I am going to stay away from spoilers for a little while, if I can.

I think it's safe to say that The Originals has stopped filming Season 2 for now so that Daniel Gillies can either take a short break or immediately start filming Saving Hope. Phoebe Tonkin is already in the UK filming her movie, which I think I might want to see.
I wonder if they managed to film the entire first arc, or if they just wrapped the first three episodes. I know everyone keeps talking about the first three eps like that's all there is so far, but I heard that they've been filming at a very fast pace.
