So Elena gave the "stay friends" words to both brothers and they both said it's not possible. Damon in is agressive way and Stefan in his sad way. It was so sad when she broke this romantic scene at the fireplace with mentioning Damon. I could hear Stefan's heart breaking again. And he is so over Delena. Did you notice how he rolled his eyes when she mentioned Damon?

REally liked this episode, this is good news, three good episodes in a row. Well at least for me.
Still dont understand what the travellers or Markos want.
Loved to see Liz Forbes again after such a long time.
Cliffhanger, how the hell will Ty get rid of the guest traveller, is he going to die??? Now that the last traveller knife is destroyed I see no clue how to free him.
I am still confused with Liv and Luke.
Apart from the old main cast I really don't know whom to trust or to like.
Paul Wesley , so beautiful, talented and now he directed. WOW!!!

The episode was good. I loved Paul's directorial debut. He did a good job. I just wish they had more Stelena scenes. It was not enough for me but what I did see was awesome.
I didn't like that it was Damon who met up with Markos and that Markos explained everything to him. It should have been SE.
I did noticed how sad SE was when the dreams stopped, especially Elena, I got the impression she wanted it to go on.
I definitely did not like how the writers are putting words in Stefan's mouth. He said, he and Elena grew apart. I'm sorry that is a load of bs. I watched S4, they did not grow apart, Elena all of a sudden stopped loving Stefan, that is not growing apart. I was hoping the writers would explain that but I guess that is not going to happen. Their explanation is "they grew apart". BS

I'm not surprised the ratings are dropping, season five has been a mediocre season at best. Not to mention the botch job of the DE relationship (DE fans have had enough) and Katherine not being there to stir things up. She definitely left a void, and this Markos guy doesn't seem up to the task. Time will tell on that though. This season has been a mess and it's showing in the ratings. But I never thought I would've seen the day when TVD slipped below a 2.00 (viewers) rating. Never! Looks like I was wrong. Sadly, season 6 might just be the last. I don't know if I should cry -- or celebrate! Still debating between the two. lol

so sad I was hoping more people would have watched live because of Paul directing I was worried people would boycott it because it is paul and not ian. They are going to say it is because it was stelena but I feel de had more scenes than se. But the se was great I can not wait until they get back together. Markos was disappointing. I also take back he is not so hot from straight on ha ha Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I527 using proboards

What I don't understand... Silas and Quetsiyah were 2000 ys ago...and they created the immortality spell and the doppelganger and the universe stuff about doppelganger meant to be destined for each other...all of a sudden this Markos dude is saying he is responsible for the visions and that the whole doppelganger destination hoax was created by him.... Now if I understood right he was about 500 ys later than Quetsiyah and Silas.
I don't get it...and furthermore...what is happening to the other side...and why do they need the doppelganger blood, they have buckets full of it. Scratching my hair here and completely clueless.
DID I MISS SOMETHING essential???

DID I MISS SOMETHING essential??? I'm with you too: completely clueless to what's going on! But to be honest, I really don't care about all this stuff to begin with; I'm just going with the flow and going along for the ride. Other more interested posters can sort all this out; I'm just not invested or interested in any of it. This season has been a complete waste as far as I'm concerned. JP gave the reins over to Caroline dries, but so far she's done a rather mediocre job with everything. Like I said before I watched the show for Nina now. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

DID I MISS SOMETHING essential??? I did not understand it either moshe12. With Tessa being on the other side you would think she would have found out Markos is the one who created the doppelganger spell and I can't see Markos is so powerful that he can create doppelgangers.
I don't understand why Markos would explain everything to Damon. He should have explained it to Stefan and Elena.
This is still all confusing for me. Hopefully we will learn more with the other episodes. Then maybe it will all make sense.

I wholeheartedly agree with all of your posts. I too loved the build up of characters like Katherine in s1 and Klaus in s2. Just like katvolley13 I don't really care about Markos and like @dman24 I only watch for Paul and the hope that the story line and mythology start to make sense again (yes, you should all be rolling your eyes at me because deep down I know it well never happen but a girl can dream, no?) moshe12 the sad part of the confusing story line is because they keep changing it! In s4 releasing Silas meant dropping the veil and then every supernatural creature would be released as a hell on earth. Isn't that why Kol didn't want it done and they killed him for it? But in s5 dropping the veil means that the supernaturals on the other side will be released and find peace. That's a good thing but don't hold onto to that idea because it will likely change by the end of s5. Why would the witches on the other side be against finding peace? Great point stelena4ever about Tessa not knowing about Markos' spell. Gram's and the other witches talk and can figure out what's going on the other side but Tessa the most powerful traveler doesn't know? I know we need to as viewers suspend belief to a certain extent but come on have the story line make sense please because we actually remember what's happened in previous episodes. Overall s5 mythology and story line has been disappointing.
