Christmas TV cliches: Unexpected snow makes everything more magical
www.zap2it.com/blogs/christmas_tv_cliches_snow-2014-12
One of my favorite Christmas episodes of my favorite shows! I don't care what they say! It's one of the best moments on Buffy and one of my favorites hands down! I love Buffy " I tried to make you go away. I killed you and it didn't help."

Yesterday I started watching Buffy again. God, I love this show. Yeah, it's a pretty good show. But I was always more of an Angel fan. That show resonated with me more. BTW, I'm sporadically watching Angel at the moment. I'm currently on season one. I might watch Buffy some time in the future though. Who knows?

I love Angel at least as much as Buffy.

I'm one of those people that loved both Buffy and Angel and Buffy and Spike (and on occasion Buffy and Riley, they just didn't have a good understanding of each other for it to be long term). There is no love triangle to pit the two against each other because their stories didn't overlap. And both characters providing Buffy the angst and support she needed at a time when she needed it. Also none of the characters existed for the sake of a ship. They each had their own identities and struggles, their own story arcs. I thought they ended things perfectly with each couple. There is no "endgame" because their story isn't finished. Plus I adore Buffy's "cookie dough" speech. The self awareness that she isn't quite ready to make that level of commitment to someone. She has her own journey to continue. This show wasn't about romance, so I would've been disappointed if the end was all about her choosing a guy. Her ending strong and choosing herself, is as it should be for Buffy.

So in other words...she Kelly Taylor'ed herself but in a good way lol I'm fine with how Buffy ended, I am in the minority that LOVED the last eppie. But, I'll always be sad I didn't see Buffy/Angel again. Riley was just ugghh though

I'm a sucker for girl power moments so her speech about giving all the potentials her power, with the montage of girls all over feeling that power...warms the cockles of my feminist heart. I loved Spike getting his redemption. I loved the last moments with the original 4. That ending shot with that hopeful smile creep up on Buffy's face.

I loved Spike getting his redemption. I loved the last moments with the original 4. That ending shot with that hopeful smile creep up on Buffy's face. Hope you guys don't mind me weighing in and adding my rather long piece? I really like the scene where The Scoobies are together in the hallway at the school before they eventually go their separate ways as it mirrors a scene in "The Harvest" which Buffy, Xander, and Willow ignore Giles completely, and walk off talking to each other about how Buffy might get herself kicked out of school, and Giles remarks to himself "the earth is doomed." In "Chosen", the same thing occurs when Buffy, Xander, and Willow ignore Giles completely and again walk off talking to each other about Xander's new look and what they could do at the mall when it's all over. Giles is still left standing there alone, looking back at them and comments that "The earth is definitely doomed." Its just a great little moment between the original 4 characters. Even though I loved loved loved Buffy and Angels love story, I also like how in the final scene even though Buffy is by no means alone she doesn't have a male partner (she chose herself like you guys mentioned because she isn't done "baking") bringing home the point that she doesn't need to rely on anyone but herself as she is a strong female character. Also I think Buffy's "cookie analogy" highlights her young age. She basically tells Angel that she is not ready to settle down as she's not done growing up. This shows Buffy's youth as I think we all sort of forgot at times that she was just a 22 year old girl due to the later seasons where she was portrayed as being older than she was, following her mums death and her parental role to Dawn, as well as her increasing duties as a Slayer.I also liked that she was with Spike, he gave her what she needed at a time when she needed him, it allowed for the viewer to see a different side to Buffy and also to Spike. While ideally I would've loved to have seen her with Angel again it just wouldn't have fit in with where they both were in there lives. Also yeah I wasn't a big fan of her relationship with Riley. I was amazed it lasted as long as it did. It's just so easy to have an abundant amount of respect for Whedon, he created a character that was so strong physically you were sort of in awe of her yet you could also identify with her because she wasn't always strong in other areas of her life.
